I plan on amassing a video collection much larger than I can ever fit on a hard drive and thus in my XBOX. I really want to get a NAS server and stick a terabyte of storage in it that I can put my videos on and access from my XBOX. I don't know a lot about the technology behind the communication between a NAS server and another computer. Does anyone know if the XBOX would be able to access media stored on a NAS server? Hello everyone, I am trying to do as much research on XBMC as i can to see if it meets my needs. Basically i am looking to store ISO files of my dvd's on my PC and be able to stream them to my TV. I looked into getting a TVIX, but i think XBMC might be better (and more affordable). There is so much information out here that i fear i might have some of it confused. I am worried about filesize limitations. Right now i rip all my DVD's using dvdshrink, so each one comes out to be a little bit over 4 gigs. I've done a search already, but I couldn't find anything applicable that I haven't already done. My default dashboard is EvoX. In my C drive I have xboxdash.xbe which is EvoX I installed XBMC to E:\Apps\XBMC and can launch fine from withing EvoX I renamed my EvoX dash for backup purposes Downloaded XBMC shortcut xbe and renamed to xboxdash.xbe Created a text file containing the link E:\Apps\XBMC\default.xbe renamed text file to xboxdash.cfg uploaded xboxdash.cfg to C drive When I reboot I get an error screen (didn't pay attention to which). So I boot into UnleashX using MechAssult and revert to my backup which gets me back to my EvoX dash. It all used to be fine until i reset my router today and when it was up and running i could not get a wireless connection via my pc which is using vista. So I've just had my first family experience as the 'official photographer' - and of course all of the 40-odd various inlaws, outlaws and others think that since the camera is bigger than their P&S and looks neat that it automatically takes awesome photos all the time.
