Clean Hard Drive? -Vista?

  • Im selling my computer and i want to clean the hard drive. does vista have an in built function to clean the hard drive (so no one can get bored and go get my personal information). I wanna leave the OS on their and can u keep it simple, ima bit of a dud when it comes to computers.


  • When you first boot into vista, you can press f8 which will bring up the recovery options, and if you have a recovery partition, you may be able to do a clean reinstall from there. Generally, however, it's better to just format the drive and sell it without an OS. If you have a license key on the computer (a little sticker from microsoft) you can mention that the computer comes with a valid license, and if they want to install it, they can do so themselves.
