Epson 285 Printer - Wont recognise carts?

  • I have a Epson R285 printer, its a week old and it keeps stopping printing sometimes and not recognising the ink carts. I have powered the printer off, removed software, but nothing I try seems to work.

    Anyone had similar problems, and how did you fix it?
    I have been messing with this for 3 hours now and I feel like taking a big hammer to it lol.


  • If it's a week old then they are probably empty.


  • you need to renew the ink if it a new printer you only get a sample of ink it should tell you what ink you need ie cyan magenta yellow or black
