How many pinkys should i feed my 1 1/2 feet corn snakes ?

  • should i feed him as much as he can eat in like 10min?
or is it like 2 pinkys per feeding time?
how big if prey should i feed him?

  • Your snake is big enough to eat hopper mice. Hopper mice are baby mice that are just starting to run around. They are about three times as big as a week old pinkie or twice as big as a fuzzy.

  • Your snake may almost be ready to go up to bigger prey. The prey you offer should equal the girth of your snake at it's widest point. If fuzzy mice seem that they are too big right now to offer, feed 2 pinkie mice once a week.

  • 1-2 pinky mice , one after the other , every 5-7 days :)these should be offered on tweezers. Defrosting mice is very easy and can be done by allowing them to thaw in a dish for a few hours; you can also defrost them in warm water (not hot). Make sure the pinky is completely defrosted before you offer it to your snake

  • Hey, at 1 1/2 ft long you need him to be on hoppers and not pinkies.

  • When I got my rat snakes, which are a close relative of the corn and king snakes, I fed them one pinkie once a week. When they get big enough, when you feed them the pinkie will no longer leave a visible bump after swallowing. Then you can bump the snake up to a fuzzie. When you defrost a mouse, put it into a bag like a sandwich bag that you can close. Run hot water in a pan, bowl, or tall cup and put the bag with the mouse in the hot water. You can tell when a mouse is unthawed when the belly is soft, just do not squeeze too hard. And then you can feed the snake, preferably hold it with tweezers at least two or three inches above the snake's head.
