How to keep livebearers alive?

  • i've kept mollies, guppies, and platies but they always die in a few weeks...everyone says they ae easy to keep but they just die on me...and i'm not one of those people that can't keep their fish alive..i've had tetras, gouramis, danios, barbs, catfish, bettas, and even a african dwarf frog...so i just dont understand what they need that the other fish don't need

  • As long as you're getting them from a reputable store and are making sure the water is clean, you shouldn't have too much trouble.

Make sure when starting a tank with them that it's being cycled properly (not adding too many fish in the beginning).

Also, something a good number of live bearers like is a little aquarium salt in their water.

You could also (for guppies and mollies) use marine salt, making the water slightly brackish. Guppies are often found in brackish environments and mollies can actually adapt to everything including full marine.

  • idk..look it up!!!!!!!!
