What's More Lethal? An Arrow/Crossbow Bolt or Bullet?

  • Both can kill anything that walks this earth.

    Lethal is lethal. You can't get much deader than dead. I'd say neither one is 'more' lethal;


  • They are both lethal as both can kill you with one shot. Its all about shot placement.

  • True, bullets kill by way of concussive force, while arrows kill by way of bleeding -- but they are equally lethal. Dead is dead, lethal is lethal -- and I agree with Brook E; the question is like asking which will get a woman more pregnant: Sexual intercourse or artificial insemination.

    Now, the chances of survival when hit by an arow may be different compared to being hit by a bullet.....but there are so many variables to that equation it is impossible to dictate which is "more lethal" in any generic situation.

    There is no such thing as being a little bit pregnant, same as there is no such thing as being a little bit dead.


  • depends, an arrow can pierce some armors, while a bullet has alot of range..

    depends what your aiming for

  • A bullet is more Lethal, because it produces more tissue, and organ damage, and trauma upon impact than an arrow or Crossbow bolt does.* Arrows and Bolts that impact the body cause death primarily due to blood loss.* Therefore it would seem that a bullet would be more Lethal and Destructive to the body .*


  • Which bullet? a .22 bullet has a completely different amount of energy compared to a depleted uranium 30mm bullet. Then also which bow? An arrow shot from a toy bow won't have much of a penetration compared to a 70 lbs compound bow. But take the deadliest bullet, where you're not even safe standing behind a brick wall and compare that to arrows, then the comparison becomes rather silly.
