Will XBMC meet my needs?

I am trying to do as much research on XBMC as i can to see if it meets my needs. Basically i am looking to store ISO files of my dvd's on my PC and be able to stream them to my TV. I looked into getting a TVIX, but i think XBMC might be better (and more affordable).
There is so much information out here that i fear i might have some of it confused. I am worried about filesize limitations. Right now i rip all my DVD's using dvdshrink, so each one comes out to be a little bit over 4 gigs. I think i read somewhere that i cannot play ISO files that are over 2 gigs, is that correct?
Thank you in advance.
I have a few IMG files that play fine, too, but I haven't tried any other image formats.
dvd9 = 9~GB (dual layer)
wikipedia is your friend and so is google
It pretty much blows anything else out of the water media wise...
So since it is able to stream a 9 gig ISO, I can do anything up to that right?
Thanks again for putting up with my questions.
